Ordnance marks

I have found two Ordnance benchmarks locally, though according to the benchmarks Database there are 10 in the town. I will have to keep a lookout when I am out on my walks. The two I have photographed are one in Church Street and the other on the wall of the Church - which, strangely enough isn't in Church Street ! The one in my pic is the Church Street one.
Ordnance marks are survey marks which used to allow the calculation of heights above the Ordnance Datum so heights above sea level could be worked out . They aren't maintained anymore but are still kept on a database. You learn a lot of things walking around - mostly useless !
